Artist's Comments
This is one of those projects I started, let sit for ages, and then finally finished in a week-long beading sprint. It is made in brick stitch (one, two, and three-drop) for the bag itself, with picot edging, spiral rope chain, and fringe. The beads are deep french blue with green and purple sheen and a coppery-gold, size 11/0. The close bead is a pressed navy bead with an aurora borealis finish; the fringe has navy blue Swarovski 4mm bicones woven in. The finished necklace is about 36" long, with the amulet being about 1 3/4" high by 2" wide. It does open and you can fit something very small inside.
